Hello and welcome to my review of The Bauman Letter.
I discovered The Bauman Letter while on the Banyan Hill website recently. Ted Bauman, the creator of the system, says that his “secrets” could help you make $100,000's in “extra money” each year.
Which sounds cool, but is it the real deal?
So I decided to take a closer look at the system to see if it's the real deal. Because anyone can make bold claims, but whether or not they actually deliver is another story.
Anyway, what I found was that The Bauman Letter (thankfully) isn't a scam.
It's a legitimate newsletter subscription service that shows you how to make money investing in stocks and bonds. As well as how to save money on tax. But if I had to boil it down to the main benefit of joining – I'd say it's Ted sharing his recommended stock picks with you.
Would I recommend it?
Well, the truth is, after reviewing 100's of stock picking services over the years, there's really only ONE service I recommend. It showed me how to 4X the S&P 500, invest better, and grow my wealth – without having a degree in finance. And you can see exactly how it works here.
That said, I do think The Bauman Letter could be worth it depending on your goals and situation, so let's take a closer look at how it works, to help you decide if it's right for you.
What Is The Bauman Letter?
The Bauman Letter is an investment service created by Ted Bauman who works for a company called Banyan Hill. The core part of the system is a monthly newsletter that shows you how to invest in stocks, exchange-traded funds and bonds he recommends.
You also get a free book Ted published called “Endless Income: 50 Secrets to a Happier, Richer Life.” Which he says can help you find high yield savings accounts, save on tax, and generate extra income through his recommended investment strategies.
He says the secrets in his book (Endless Income) could make you an extra $412,000 each year. And that The Bauman Letter subscription can help you make another $169,000 per year on top of that. Which sounds amazing.
I mean, who wouldn't want to make an “extra” half a million dollars each year? But the truth is, not everyone who joins The Bauman Letter makes this sort of money. And the fact is, it’s just as easy to lose money in the stock market as it is to make it.
Regardless of the individual system or guru behind it, there is always a high level of risk involved in trading the market.
Especially if your aim is to make $500K or more each year in the stock market.
In that case, you're either risking HUGE amounts of capital on a low-risk/low gain investment, or a smaller amount of capital on a high-risk investment. Either way, it can be very risky.
Don’t get me wrong, I do think The Bauman Letter is a great service, especially for $79. But I also think it’s important to be realistic, especially since it’s YOUR money on the line.
How Does The Bauman Letter Work?
The way The Bauman Letter works is pretty straightforward. The idea is to signup for $79 on the Banyan Hill website, which gives you access to the following:
- Monthly newsletter: This is the bread and butter of the subscription. Each month, Ted sends you a comprehensive newsletter outlining his big-picture analysis and recommendations of what he thinks is worth investing in, which often includes things like stocks, bonds and ETFs.
- Model portfolio: This portfolio includes every stock on Ted Bauman's “buy now” list. He tells you what he recommends buying, at what price and when he recommends selling
- Trade alerts: When it is time to buy or sell a stock, Ted sends you a trade alert via email. The email tells you how to act on his recommendation along with an explanation.
- Weekly updates: Each week, Ted updates you on the market, the positions he’s taken and answer frequently-asked questions to help you stay informed.
- Website access: All of the emails you get, along with the model portfolio, are archived in the members only website. Which makes it handy to get access to everything in one place.
When you boil it all down, there are two main core benefits of this service. The monthly newsletters that are sent to you each month, that list a new stock you can invest in. And the model portfolio, which shows you every stock Ted currently has on his buy list.
How does he pick the stocks he recommends?
Ted has developed what he calls the “BOLD system” which is an acronym for the way the system works. Every position has a Big vision, a business model that’s Open for takeoff and recent developments that make it a Logical move for investors. He also makes sure there's a Distinct catalyst that makes it stand out from its peers.
On top of Ted's stock picks, you also get his thoughts behind why he chooses the stocks he does, which is arguably the most valuable part of all, as this could help you become a better investor.
Who Is Ted Bauman?
Ted Bauman is the man who created The Bauman Letter, and an investment expert who has managed to create a lot of success over the years by investing strategically.
He started out by obtaining degrees in economics and politics, and began working for various non-profit organizations, including working as a fund manager for low-cost housing projects in South Africa.
He also helped found Slum Dwellers International, which has gone on to help millions of people all over the world. So he's not just a financial guru, he actually seems like quite a charitable guy.
According to his Banyan Hill profile page, in the 2000's he began researching and writing about finance, housing and urban planning issues for the United Nations, the World Bank, the South African government and others.
And in 2013, he began writing for a company called Banyan Hill Publishing. Where he publishes newsletters like The Bauman Letter and 10X Project, among others.
Is he the real deal?
Yes, Ted Bauman is definitely a real investing guru.
He’s been successfully investing for many years and has worked with some of the biggest names in the investment world. He’s also been featured on sites like Forbes, MarketWatch and The Guardian (among others) and many people speak highly of his newsletters.
Is The Bauman Letter Legitimate?
The Bauman Letter is a real service that could potentially help you make money investing in the stock market. The creator of The Bauman Letter, Ted Bauman, shares his investment tips and insights, as well as his recommended stocks, bonds, and exchange-traded funds.
I personally think that for $79 per year, there's not much risk in buying the subscription itself. The risk more comes into play if you follow Ted Bauman's advice, and buy stocks that end up going down. Which can happen – millions of people lose money in the stock market each year.
Not to mention, there are some upsells in store for those who purchase a subscription to The Bauman Letter. Some of Ted Bauman's more expensive services cost as much as $3,995. And that's just one subscription, he has others which (collectively) cost around $20,000.
I'm not saying that makes it a scam or in any way illegitimate.
But you should know that The Bauman Letter is, in some respects, a “stepping stone” to more expensive services. That's just how these types of services work.
The Bauman Letter is an investment service created by Ted Bauman of Banyan Hill Publishing. The core part of the system is a monthly newsletter that shows you how to invest in stocks, exchange-traded funds and bonds that Ted recommends.
On one hand, Ted is a very knowledgeable investor who shares a great deal of value with his subscribers. So it’s possible that by following his system could end up making a lot of money.
And the service he is offering is definitely legitimate.
On the other hand, there’s definitely some risk involved with this. So I wouldn't rush into it expecting to get rich quick, or without understanding that nothing is guaranteed.
In any case, what you decide to do is up to you.
I'm not affiliated with The Bauman Letter service, so my aim with this review was never to convince you to join, or not join, the service. As always, my aim was to simply share my opinion to help you make a more informed choice either way.
